GSRP
I sent out many, many emails today about this. I got many, many emails back labeled as undeliverable. If you think you should have gotten an email from me, please contact me at goddess[at]cyborgoddess.prettyposies.com (don’t forget to include your mail address as well) and we’ll get you sorted out.
The big change to the next round is the inclusion of a small, special gift, placed at the bottom of the box. That way even if you can’t find exactly what you were hoping for among the stash, you can at least get a nice little present out of it (knit/felted flowers, the java jacket I’m still craving, maybe a skein of special yarn, or a nice stitch marker?). And I’m begging you - before you put in all your left over yarn, ask yourself, would you be happy opening the box and seeing it? If not, please, please, please donate it - call your local senior center, head start or after school care program. If you can not find a good home for it, you can mail it to me and I’ll donate it to Erin’s ladies who are so desperate for yarn that Red Heart is a luxury.
Canadian Lace Boxers - I’ve gotten a lead on the box and am waiting for confirmation. Please bear with us while we send out the Mounties!
In other news, I am knitting a bit - a baby blanket in the round from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitter’s Almanac - an excellent pattern if you don’t know how much yarn you have and you just want to knit till it is done. I’m using a Classic Elite cotton that washes up great. I also made a pair of booties out of Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn. I’ve dubbed this month the March of The Booty - let me know if you are along for the making for baby (as opposed to baby making - Congrats to Boogie Knits on their future addition) and I’ll throw up a list on the right.
I must confess that I may have been the last to arrive and the first to leave the Afghan sew-up hosted by Julie last weekend. I just happened to be standing next to Kay’s adorable son which is why you saw so much of me. But a little less than a few months ago, as my breakup with FRED is going great. Feel free to click on the extended entry for more info.
Everyone needs a transitional guy, right? That one that isn’t perfect, but gets you back in the groove? My transitional guy is Gym. I’ve traded evening knitting time for time on the treadmill, the weight machines, and yoga classes. I get a star for each exercise and I’ve become a bit of a star whore. The other night I actually debated whether I should take the yoga class - which I knew I’d enjoy and get a good work out - but only 1 star - or do weights/cardio/circuit which would get me 3 stars. I went for the yoga and went back the next day for double cardio. In addition to the stars, I also get to put cream in my coffee the day after I exercise - which is my biggest motivation now. Cream was the one thing I found I couldn’t live with out. No more french fries? No more donuts? Fine, no cream in my coffee - not ok.
I know I won’t be on the treadmill forever. I signed up for a 5k, I want to run the Brewrun (a 5 miler which ends at a pub) I want to row crew again - or atleast kayak on the Charles River near my house. I want to ski again & swim with my kids at the pond. I want to go through an entire yoga class without doing the fat girl modifications or the awkward pauses in between poses. I want to knit myself a sweater without having to resize the pattern for my hips.
I’m on my way.
If you are curious and want to know more - you can find me posting over at www.3fatchics.com under the name “Momadance.”

Yup, cream in my coffee was the thing that I couldn’t give up, either. At first, I tried soy creamer (bleech and double bleech!) skim milk (don’t go there) and then regular milk (not enough). Then I found fat-free half and half. It is my one artificial consolation during weight loss, and it’s actually not that bad. Don’t ask me how they do it.

I don’t think I received a GSRP email…hmmm…
What do you get with the stars? And congrats on the exercise. I so need to do that too.

My GSRP e-mail went into my span box, but I always check it out before empting it. So the messages may have ended up there.

Yup! I think I’d be training too instead of giving up on cream in coffee.
I actually started this weekend and feel good already, hopefully I’ll stick to it. You are a great inspiration!

I am in the process of “making for the baby”, so yes, I am in for March of the Booty (or whatever you called it). BTW, anyone give me good ideas of baby booty patterns. I am looking for some that are just straight and can be pulled on. I will make a tube, but how long should it be?? I don’t have any kids so am clueless as to sizes/lengths.

Hi there,
Lots of luck with your exercise program.
I was wondering about the lace box. I received it twice “Ontario” and I believe it’s on the east coast now. Is it going to be making another round or does it finish up in B.C.? Hope it keeps going. I like the idea of placing a gift in the box, that should prove interesting. Thanks for keeping us posted

It is so easy to not know — I did it for years but Elizabeth Zimmermann is spelled with 2 n’s. So glad you refer to her so often — just thought I would give you a heads up.
