Harlot! Harlot! Harlot!
Are you going to the potluck tonight? What are you bringing? I’m going to bring Clapotis, which I pulled out of my UFO trunk last night (one of two UFO’s currently hovering around my conscious) - still undecided about the food.
If I can weave in the ends on my shawl, I’ll be the girl wrapped up in green bamboo! If I don’t know you already, please come say hello!

Daniel Shays’ Legacy: Marshall Bloom, Radical Insurgency and the Pioneer Valley
Sunday, 01 May 2005
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
The event is a reading and discussion lead by author Amy Stevens. In this book, published with Collective Copies, Ms. Stevens presents new material about the early days of the Montague Farm and the tragic suicide of its founder Marshall Bloom. She relates how historical precedents for social justice activism awaited refugees from an internecine battle waged among members of the Liberation New Service in late 60’s NYC. In this first wave of anti-war activists’ apparent retreat “back to the land” in Western Mass. are found the raw beginnings of the cooperative, anti-nuclear, environmentalist, anti-big business, equal rights movements that have successfully taken root in this valley and its beloved hills.
Location:
The event will be held at Collective Copies, Amherst at 71 South Pleasant Street at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 1st.
Cost: Free

Next, just incase you see it listed on Pay Per View or are looking to add dvds to your netflix queue, check out A Home at the end of the world. This movie was lovely, and Colin Farrell gave the performance of his life time. Its been a week and I am still thinking about the characters, the plot and the acting. Very, very moving little film.

I finished my green bamboo/ribbon shawl and it is extrodinary. I blocked it, with hesitation because I didn’t know what would happen to the bamboo, but it behaved just fine - adding at least 1/3 of the lenght, and making it look so much nicer.
I’ve started working up a Cravet from an IK a few years ago, the design is by Teva Durham and I am using two colors of Manos Cotton. I’ve totally stalled out on that tank, am having lots of second thoughts and am uninspired by the yarn. Must do some more swatches and see what happens.

Kristi Potter does it again with the wonders of short rows! I can’t wait to make W and will begin looking through my stash this evening. Thank you, Kristine Brooks, for showing me how it will look on me. And oh my gosh, did you see Mariposa yep, I’m gonna make me one of those too. Could I make Asana in Cascade fixation with wider straps at the top? I’m tired of having my top fall over my head when I bend over in yoga, but while I don’t mind flashing the woman behind me all night, I still need a bit of support.
I do believe there are more and better articles in Knitty than in any other knitting magazine I’ve read recently. Thanks for setting the bar higher, Amy!
Does this count as glutony?

While rounding up all my various notions the other night, I found four Chibi needle holders. Two of which are the highly coveted pink variety. I also found that my lovely daughter had pulled off the end of my Addi Turbo Size 7 needle - which wasn’t actually a bad thing - the join was already damaged and felt like I was knitting with a hang nail.
A girl can only use so many needle holders, so I will be happy to let these go, but I’d really like to replace my Addi Turbo Size 7 needle. Did you happen to pick up an extra one on a trip to the yarn store without your needle inventory?

Here is a quick photo of the perfect stroller blanket (imho). This was made out of a Classic Elite cotton that I love, I still some left over I may whip into washcloths for the next baby on the list. The photo of the baby booties was totally washed out, so no evidence of the amazing Cherry Tree Hill stay on booties till I next see my nephew.
