Gone!
Wow, everything is gone! Thanks for making that such a fun, quick process.
I’ll email everyone with shipping charges, after my trip to the post office this afternoon.
The remainders …
I cleaned up the list a bit, this is all that remains. If you like ribbon yarn, and are looking for fall colors – that Katia Beetle would look lovely knit up into a shapely tank, to wear under a blazer. I used one skein of the Lana Grossa Pompom in a different color for trim on a cardigan a couple of years ago, and it looked fantastic. The Willough would be great for a kircheif or cravet (ala Teva Durham).

Here is how this works:
It doesn’t look like you can do C.O.D. from the post office any more, so if you see something you want, I’ll let you know the postage cost and you can pay me via pay pal. This isn’t everything in the box, but what I deemed most swapable, if you are looking for more “fun fur yarn” there are a few more in the box, as well as skeins of baby pink acrylic yarn.
Anything not claimed by 8/1/2005 will be donated to charity!

Agenda
My husband’s new trellis.
For my next entry:
- I am going to Graduate School again.
- I have a new stash box to report. I will post the yarns and if you send me your address and accept the box c.o.d, I will send you the yarn.
- Sockapalooza update – I’m on my (deleted to preserve my idenity) sock, and will not be sending this off either. Have no fear, at least one of the X number of pairs will keep my feet toasty warm in Vermont.
Friday is just another day
when you are unemployed, and with the long weekend coming up, everyone is away so I don’t feel guilty not looking for a job today. Now that I have my excuses out of the way, lets move on, shall we?
I was really hoping today would be new threads friday, but I’m about 3/4″ from the casting off on my collar for my golf style shirt (Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitter’s Almanac) . Modifications, I made a few:
1) EZ has you do a provisional cast on at the bottom, then an I-Cord cast on for the sleeves. I like the look of the I-Cord cast on and thought it might prevent the dreaded roll up over the belly that plauges my Shapely Tank. So, I cast on 10 stitches, worked in garter stitch with an I-Cord at one side. I did two pieces, one for the front and one for the back, to give a nice little slit in the bottom. I then picked up one stitch for every garter ridge all the way around, joined and knit on to the sleeves.
2) My sleeves are a bit shorter than they should be, hitting my arm at the widest point. I think I may look into making them longer, but will see what it looks like bocking.
3) Shaping. As you all know, I’m a pear, my breast size is, and will most likely remain, about 6″ smaller than my hips. To compensate for this, I’ve tried a few things. For the Shapely Tank, I cast on the for the hip, and decreased for the bust. For my Mirror Mirror, I cast on for the hip, and put in two bust darts. For this one, I cast on using a size 7 needle and then, about 8″ up, (out of 16″) I switched to size 5. The result is a top that fits great through the bust, and has a little flow through the tummy, without looking like an a-line dress.
This sweater was a chore from start to finish. I bought the yarn on an impulse at from the knitting dominatrix, threw out her design and put the yarn in the back of my closet. Feeling guilty about the purchase, I pulled the yarn out with the intention of making a practical garmet. The yarn isn’t really me, but the design is, and I do like the look. But, finishing this was like making sure I eat my salad every day, I know it is good for me even on days when I’m craving something else.
