Me: Here

Welcome, my name is Amy Stevens. I am currently in the MAT Program, Marlboro College Graduate Center, Brattleboro, Vermont. I am concentrating my studies on the digitalization of knowledge in higher education.

In 1995 I set out to try and write a history dissertation on women's voices in the civil rights and anti war movements of the 1960s, and then I was promptly seduced by a gay dead man and before I knew it, I had turned my back on Women's History. It wasn't long after that when I traded in my library card for a cubicle farm in a sky scraper, suddenly I was spending my lunch hour reading The Wall Street Journal instead of Off Our Backs. After rising to the top of my field, I began to plot my return to my first love, higher education.

This website is a collection of pages in which I attempt to get caught up on my missing years from the academy, specifically the evolution of women's studies as well as the evolution of technical tools available, changing the knowlege industry landscape. This site serves three purposes, to demonstrate my online research and conceptual web design skills, and as a proof of concept for my Legal and Ethical Issues on the Internet final project.. More details about the scope and skills demonstrated for those classes can be found on the Conceptual Web Design White Paper , Online Research Journal and Legal pages.

I am also a happily married mother of two and spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about yarn.
